I'm all for complaining due to a change of ingredients to make some products (that used to be by them) non-vegan
What has upset some folks is that they have reformulated some lines that were vegan to have milk in them. We think you should let them know how you feel so they understand their customers. There is a petition that you can sign to make all products vegan: http://www.petitiononline.com/sosmix/petition.html

edit: wow, 1,658 signatures so far!

    Hi all I'm a newbie to boards:confused:
I have found a source for sosmix country herbs. And they have it in stock, confirmed by email this morn. Only problem is they are in sheffield england and you have to either collect from there or arrange delivery yourself. Any ideas, apart from asking santa?? We are a family of 5 vegetarians so the option of a 10kg bag of the stuff sounds great for £40 stg, but am worried how much to get it delivered would mount up to. They do the smaller packs too, but if paying for delivery or going to collect the large size makes more sense, maybe....
Don't want to post the company name because am not sure on the whole advertising thingy here.

Just a quick thought, if I can source it why can't the shops here?? Do all shops here use the same suppliers or what.......

Welcome to boards veggiemum :D you will always find this forum helpful and full of advice for any query you make.

I'd suggest you make enquiries with your local health food stores about this and your source. See if they have any information. Surely if there is one source, there must be another ;)

Am planning to visit down to earth over next few days to do just that, sweet-rasmus.
Will let ye know what I find out, hopefully some good news :) Down To Earth have gone out of their way to get stuff for me in the past. So am hoping once they know where, that we will be back in business. 4 kids 19 to 6yrs + me missing the saturday morning sosmix sambos badly :(

And thank you for the lovely welcome! (rock)

That's a shame indeed, has always been a staple in our house.
Veggimum may I ask do you find it difficult to raise a family completely veggie, I mean do the kids ever want to rebel so to speak? I know some families who are but at some point or another one of the kids had wanted to have meat if in a friends house or something. How would you handle it if they did and would you be very disappointed? Sorry digressing from OP here but find it interesting.

    Hi all
I did go into D*wn to earth who have said they will contact the seller in Sheffield and get back to me.
AB no not difficult at all. As the older ones have grown, one of them did try meat in a friends house and did not like it. had no problem telling them and me. The way it should be I think, when they get to the age of choice they should choose.:)

There are two other alternatives I have seen. Just tried 'Just Wholefoods' sausage version which is vegan. They have a burger one too which is vegan. Bought in The Country Cellar in Dun Laoghaire. There is also a vegetarian version of each, not sure of company, there too.

That justwholefoods banger mix is horrid, I'm in sosmix withdrawal so I tried a box, I couldn't eat it and put the rest of the mix on the bird table.
