two weeks a ago a friend of mine found a wedding ring on the street in dublin, there was nobody around so he picked it up and brought it home. this wednesday two weeks ago. he wore the ring wednesday night on his ring finger.

thursday he decided to pawn the ring, got €25 and went out that night (student).

friday morning he woke up with a small cut on his ring finger, as the day went on the finger got very sore and turned black so he went to hospital. turned out he had an extremely nasty infection and they had to amputate half of his ring finger in order to save the rest of his hand/arm.

what do you think, coincidece, karma or what... all of our mates are a little freaked out by it

And within 48 hours he had an infection that was so bad that he needed a partial amputation? No antibiotics first?

he had the parial amputation 4 days after he got the cut. im no doctor apparently he was very unfortunate where the cut was, it was quiet small but it let the infection into his tendon which helped spread it up his arm

Serves him right, it wasn't his to keep, going to a pawn shop with someone's wedding ring??? It's a pity his fu*kin' arm didn't fall off.

I'm sorry, you think someone deserves to lose a finger for keeping/selling an anonymous ring they found? Ok, granted it would have been nice if he made an effort, such as contacting the nearby shops, but unless it had a distinctive inscription there's no way to trace the original owner.

    Serves him right? Jesus.

No, I said I hoped his arm fell off, not his finger. These things have a funny way of coming back full circle at you. Good enough for him. If I found a wedding ring, the last thing I'd do is go to a pawn shop and try to profit from someone else's misfortune ffs.

It reminds me of that tale that does the rounds about the lady who buys a dress in a second shop or Oxfam for a date. The dress is a designer dress. Anyway she ends up at the niteclub has a heart attack and dies.

Turns out the person who owned the dress previously died and was buried in it, but the undertaker realised it was a designer dress and removed it from her body before she was buried.

Ah but before you say, it was her ghost, no it wasnt. Turns out that the dress had absorbed some embalming fluid (which is highly toxic if ingested) and when the girl was dancing on the dance floor, her perspiration caused the embalming fluid to reactivate and it got absorbed into her body and poisoned her.

But wait before you say "ah that explains it", the theory was put to the test by some urband legend debunkers and it turns out that it would be impossible for someone to die even if the dress had been dripping in embalming fluid when she put it on!

It sounds like this tale of wedding rings is a variation on it.

There was actually a CSI (New York I think it was) that used that as it's plot! :D

I actually don't believe you. You can't possible wish that a person lose an arm for selling an anonymous ring they found on the street.

ffs maybe u would be better off in Saudi Arabia u would fit in much better there, and judging how u seem to feel about extreme punishments u would love how they deal with women who "dishonour" their family.

ya he done the wrong thing when he found the ring but how the hell could u say he deserved this

What ever about what the guy said, I don't think its fair to use racist stereotypical replies and brandish the fella as a woman hater. In fairness I don't really think he means it as everyone is taking it up, but then again if you had any sense of humour maybe you would see that, after all its a ridiculous story that only deserves silly replies, as you have just proven.:D

Disagree with ya on the Saudi Arabia thing but is it that much to expect a small bit of decency and honesty these days??? It wasn't his to sell, he didn't give a fu*k about anyone else but himself, it came back at him ten fold, happy days!

Too right, pity his head didn't get infected and fall off. Would be one less dishonest c*nt out there to sell stuff that you lose in the future!

:D Little urban tales that gets everyones back up, Not buying the story, but there is not one perfect person among us, I would like to think I would hand it in, in fact I would say here and now I would but at the same time would people feel the same if it was a 50 euro note how quick would people hand it over to police

Take the moral and move along :D
