I was in a lot of pain after removal of wisdom teeth this cleared up for about a week and i now have pain on one side both top and bottom running the entire lenght of the gum to front teeth, i have no pain on the other side.

In the last 4 days i have noticed a lump the size of a malteeser along my lower jaw line on the same side, dont know whether to go to dentist or the doctor about this. The lum isntall that visible its only when i rub my finger along it that i notice it but it is a source of pain.

    Anyone experience this ?

4 weeks today since removal of 3 impacted wisdom teeth.

I would go to the dentist as soon as possible. It could be any number of things (from something completely benign, to a bad infection or abscess). I'm sure your dentist won't mind seeing you, and personally, I'd always rather be told that "it's nothing serious", than put it off and be told "if only you'd come sooner".

    Update..

Went to the docs i have an infection unsure where its came from but can now feel it in my whole cheek... on strong antibiotics. I shouldnt have left it so long.

So advice is.. dont leave things so long.. it gets even more painful !!

    Thanks kila for responding !

Glad you're getting it sorted, hope it doesn't take too long. Provided your dentist doesn't disapprove, sometimes warm salt water rinses can help with mouth pain, and also with infection and healing.

If you have trouble eating because of it (I had 4 teeth pulled in the space of 2 weeks once, so know all too well what a pain it can be), try a nutrition supplement like Complan. If you're going to do so, make sure you make it to its fullest calorie potential (i.e. with full fat milk, rather than water) so that you don't wear yourself down (which definitely won't help the healing). You can get complan in boots, in any pharmacy, and in a few regular shops too (I've often seen it in tesco). There are other brands of the same kind of thing, but I've had experience of complan and found it good.
