    Hi

I have to put up a TG4 aerial. Any pointers? Where is the best place to pick up one of these?

I have an existing RTE aerial, which i have split, as it goes to 2 rooms. can i just split the TG4 cable and then join to the existing RTE one??

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks

Depends what part of the country you are in, mosty TG4 is UHF, but some of people get RTÉ on VHF, I assume since you need a new aerial for TG4, this might be the case for you.

    Sorry, should have said that.

I am in Ennis, so i would imagine Meaghara and UHF for tg4 aswell.

I am in ennis as well, I ordered uhf over the internet and rte1/2 are vhf, i am near clarecastle. tg4 is tricky, i was going to put it on chimney but when i heard about roll out of dtt I put it on hold. there is a palce in limerick as well that does aerials, URLAN TV.

DTT and TG4 both involve a UHF signal, the packaging is different but the signal and the receiving of it is not so go ahead and install a UHF aerial pointing at Maghera, it will be good for TV3 and TG4 (ch. 66 & 68 respectively) and it will also be good for DTT.

Maghera will use channels 55, 48, 67 and 65 for the DTT MUXs so you need to get yourself a Group C/D aerial which will be good for TV3 & TG4 today and DTT in the future.
