Can be if you want the RF to IR function, etc, but that Logitech site is not accurate or at least you can source items cheaper, just even check Komplett, as one example. You can often find some second hand too, or the odd time on the iBOOD daily offer.

Since I got one, I know I (or the family) could not live without it, and have to deal again with multiple remotes with various different functions to manage. Instead now just one that does it all.

Just an option to consider, depending on your needs.

http://www.satcure.co.uk/pdfs/sky+_av_amp.pdf has a list of codes for various AV amps, from AVConnections and Satcure.

Offtopic: Eddie, what model Harmony do you have? I've a 555, and tbh, it's not fantastic. It has taken hours of setup and programming but I still find myself going to the original remotes.

byte, i've had a harmony for years, love it. if you're going back tot he origianl remote, it must be for a button you haven't on your harmony. for those i add them as unctions to the programmable buttons beside the lcd(for example, my harmony doesn't have the 4 color buttons, so i've added them there. for any input thre is only a finite number of buttons you really need, for all the devices, and the idea is to get them all on the front panel of th harmony, so that you're not pressing a multitude of buttons just to adjust one paramater

I have a 555 an I think it is brilliant once you have it set up properly (I admit this takes some time).

    I have it running
    - LCD TV
    - Technics Amp
    - Xbox (all xbox features)
    - Humax Freesat
    - Sky+

and I will be adding my Sony BDP350 bluray player when it arrives this week.

It is wife, kids and even mother proof and I never use other remotes now. I couldn't imagine not having it at this stage. I have had many combination remotes including One4All models but this is streets ahead. It is very customisable with macros and learning features.

Best features are the one button to turn everything off and the display panel with customised buttons "Play Xbox "etc. Only negative is that the 555 isnt a rechargeable unit and it goes through batteries once every couple of months (I use rechargeables).

Apologies for the long of topic post but I really love this device!

I have the 895, and love it. Allows me to control my stuff hidden away in a cabinet, and even from the next room via RF. :D

I've had an harmony 885 for a few years now but never quite got it controlling my Panasonic LCD Projector. With Stupid Panasonic still not implementing discrete input selection remote codes it made input selection on the projector very unreliable. I can't understand why the manufacturers haven't cottoned on to this after all these years. Its not like they need to retool and redesign their own remotes with discrete buttons. All they need to do is include discrete codes on the chip even if these do not have a corresponding button on their own OEM remotes supplied with the device.

Anyway the remote was mothballed for the last 18 months not because of the PJ issue but because the whole Home Cinema was mothballed itself for reasons I wont go into.

So anyway, the Harmony 885 came out of retirement recently for a room with a Panasonic 42 PV70 plasma, Sony STR DB-1080 DD6.1 Reciever, Pace NTL box, Original Xbox running XBMC.

I wasn't holding out much hope of 100% reliable operation. I knew it would have no problem with all the devices bar the TV but once again Panasonic input selection on the TV was not discrete. I figured I'd have to resort to onscreen input toggle buttons which was no problem for me but would mean less than hassle free operation for others in the house.

Absolutely thrilled to discover that with even less configuration and no workarounds by me it worked 100% reliable after just the basic adding of devices and activity setup.

Now either Logitech have implemented the workarounds for us in the online database or Panasonic maybe changed the input selection slightly with an anchor input, but now it works flawlessly.

So for those Harmony owners who were not entirely happy with the performance of their harmonys and maybe even mothballed them, it is worth the effort to delete their current profile, update the software and firmware on the remote and set up your devices and activities again. You may be pleasently surprised like me.

Logitech just regained my confidence and when our renovation work is done in a few months and all the new AV gear goes into all the rooms, I'll be purchasing another 5 or 6 Harmony remotes.
