    Hi

My tooth which was damaged in a bar required a porcelain crown. Im now getting my legal case together and was wondering what the official estimate on the lifespan of a crown is. I will be contacting my dentist tomorrow about it but i just want to get a general idea on what to expect.

    cheers!

I've got some crowns, some nearly 20 years yet others had to be replaced after 5 - 10 years.

yes those figures seem to be what most other sites are saying
the tooth that I had to get a crown on was a second molar I believe. i wonder if the type of tooth means anything. back teeth seem to do all the chewing so does that mean they wear out faster?
