    hey,

ok i've been promising myself i'd get back into fitness again as i've just let myself go a bit.

i've got skinny arms, and starting to get man boobs. and a visible stomach. skinny legs too!

i'd like to start busilding a little muscle around the arms, bum and legs (shoulders too. nothing major, just to improve my physique.

also i'd like to get rid of my stomach and stuff. will running sort all this out? and some wights?

also i'm eating at irregular hours etc.

i'm not loaded so i can't spend money on fillets of fish everyday etc, can someone just recomment a couple of things in the physical routine part and then maybe a "Guideline" as to what i should eat each day?

i know it's alot but i'm just burned out worrying about it and i'm getting nothing done!

Well dude, your diet is the first place to fix. Start buying mince at you butchers in bulk and get vegetables.

If ya want to build muscle start lifting weights. Squats for your legs, bench for your chest and all that yada.

There's no such thing as spot reducing fat. You'll lose it from all over, so it'll take a while to fix your belly.

Read the stickys at the top of the page, my arms are sore! =]

Eat real food. Porridge, eggs, meat, chicken (buy a whole one, boil or roast it and you've got several days food), whatever fish is on sale, tinned tuna, salmon and sardines, lots and lots of green veg, whatever is in season and cheap. At the moment, that's green beans and brussels sprouts. Tesco and Dunnes have great value in nuts in the baking section.

Avoid all the ready meals. They cost a fortune and provide rubbish nutrtion. Honestly, you can cook a proper meal for less money and just as fast using real food. Especially avoid all the low fat ready meals. "Low fat" is code for "full of cheap ingredients and with added sugar and salt."

Get more active. Walk where possible, consider cycling instead of getting the bus. Get up and do a few press-ups during the ad breaks.

Weights are great, but you can use your own body as weights if you can't get to a gym. Squats, lunges, step-ups, press-ups, pull-ups, dips, plank, crunch, bird-dog are all good and will get you on your way.

It's called Skinny fat. It's kind of dangerous, because you can register as a healthy weight on the BMI tables, but still have a lot of fat around your organs which can do a lot of damage.

Your best bet is to eat clean, cut all sugary carbs or anything which spikes insulin, as that tends to promote belly fat, and start working out. Lift weights to build muscle, which will have the great side-effect of giving your body something useful to do with the calories you eat.

Mince: chilies, mushroom, onions, peppers, tomatoes, olives, baby sweetcorn, mangetout, leeks, scallions, garlic, beansprouts, any amount of herbs. You can make it into burgers, bolognese sauce, shepards pie (try topping with cauliflower rather than mash) whatever you like. Just use real ingredients and fresh veg.

If you dont have enough money to buy fish, you can easlily get a good healthy diet that is not expensive, but it might become a bit boring, tuna, eggs are great sources of protein that are quite in-expensive

    What are your overall goals???

    Bulk up, and loose weight?

If so, do one or the other, not both?

Time to choose, then time to nail the diet to reach your goals

IMO training is the easy bit, diet and getting in the right frame of mind is the hard bit

No effort no reward, put in the time and the fuel, you will achieve the results you want
