    Yes, Supermacs, O'Connell st.

Here I am, in a nearby webcafe, after getting the bus in from Chapelizod to here and getting a Snack Box Meal. I had started a minute-jog, minute-walk from the top of the Phoenix past Ratra House and on in an anticlockwise loop around the Phoenix. I planned to turn around once I got to five cycles of run/walk, buyt I only got as far as three. I just kept walking, and I kept going to Chapelizod. I feel all ashamed for wolfing it down, and all I'm missing to look like a local is a peak cap and some sovereign rings (bleugh!).

Not a great start. But it's a start.

I'm wondering about my diet. My job entails getting up at half 3-ish to get in for 5, where I sit in front of a screen for 2 hours at a time, with a 15 minute break somewhere in the 2 hours. My job is to wait for an image to come across the screen, analyse it, then make a decision on whether it's good or bad. Not very strenuous. and very, very easy to snack on the job. Come 1pm, I'm done, and my time is my own.

I live 1k from the phoenix park, and I'd like to get some use out of it. I haven't got any specific goals in fitness, however a good starting point would be to be able to pass an army cadet fitness test (I can't apply, since one of my eyes is outside the credentials, but I'd call it a good target) and after looking it up, I noticed there's a 5k in a few weeks in the Phoenix. If I can get around that, then excellent!

That's an interesting first run mate. The main thing is you have started, your lucky to be so close to the park. In terms of running just get out there and run, its that simple. Start off at a nice and easy pace and continue with that until you have to stop, then simply build upon it.

Interms of diet check out the stickies plenty of info there. Best of luck with it.

I'd love to do that 5k run, it would be great as 5k is not that long at all and I'm not that great with the long distance running so yeah!
