    Hi,
Has anyone ever been to the greek island ios? I did a bit of research on it and it looks like a cool place, only problem is that it has no airport. You can get there by ferry from Athens but I'm just wondering has anyone done this and is it worth the hassle??

I can only help with the ferry, we got Blue Star's ferry from Piraeus in September going to Naxos, this is the second last stop, the last is Ios. the ferry is fine, I think we paid €20 per one way ticket. it took us about 5 hours to get to Naxos, the weather was good so we sat outside but there is plenty to keep you occupied inside the ferry. I wouldn't hessitate to get cheap flights to Athens and ferry to the islands, unless you're under severe time constraints as it is about 7 hours to Ios.
