I've been invited to a winter wedding so I'm on the lookout for a dress to wear. I'm not normally a dress kinda girl so there are a couple of questions for you good people out there :)

What colours are a no-no for a wedding? I know wearing white is the ultimate nooooo. I've heard that red/green/black aren't a good idea either - is this true?

Also, what dress length is acceptable without looking naff? I had an accident a couple of months ago and now I've got an ugly looking purpley coloured scar above my knee that I'd prefer to keep under wraps.

there are a lot of really nice dresses around that sit just below your knee, new look and monsoon have some fab ones, as for the colours as far as i know white is the only no go for a wedding

    hope that helps

To the knee or just below it would probably be best. It's probably in idea to try make the dress one that you might be able to wear again. Cleavage in moderation and short skirts should be avoided. Just try to keep it elegant. There are so many shops doing dresses that with the right bag and shoes could be perfect for a wedding and yet worn again. Try asos, oasis, also Principles, for high street stores. Keep in mind that it is a winter wedding so you will need a jacket or coat to keep you warm. Alternatively you could try wearing black tights which would keep you warm and also hide you scar. best of luck!

You should check out warehouse and monsoon, they're great for wedding dresses, but oyu run the risk of having the same dress as someone else at the wedding!
