Would anyone know of any reasonably priced depression self help groups (cbt related if possible) held in Dublin on a regular basis?

Contact some psychologist/counsellors and ask them.

many of them will run group as well as singular sessions. from what i know i think you may have to do something like six individual sessions before being accepted into a group.

ring around and ask, i am based in carlow, i wouldn't be familiar with professionals in dublin.

I have bipolar and work paid for some one on one CBT - it was ... average - basically because I was not focussed on what I wanted and how to get it - and well if I knew that I would not need CBT... I saw a CBT spreadsheet for doing a pychological profile which would have been a better start than having the therapist 'pose' at me. 'after 6-8 sessions we will find out what is wrong not be able to fix it ' work paid for 6 sessions but I was not going to split myself apart then have to pay him to maybe put me back together again...

Just saw your note when I was posting for bipolar support groups (in Disability forum) - if anyone knows of bipolar support groups let me know. I have been to aware.ie and grow.ie i.e. fair to OK but not bipolar specific

Have you tried the HSE? Most mental health services will run such groups in day hospitals etc. Ring your local Mental health Service, ask to speak to a psychiatrist or community nurse & they'll be able to tell you.
