I'm going to try to get back into shape befor I lose it forever.

Simple Idea ... I don't run very much but I'm going to start at home (Waterford, I'm starting outside Reginald's Tower), I'm going to map my route on mapmyrun.com and see how far from home I get.

I'm going to start by heading to Wexford and I'm going to have to run (or swim !?!) across the Irish sea and log the miles because I couldn't find a way of taking a break on mapmyrun.com.

    WEEK 1

    Weekly Mileage : 7.5

OK first week 1 is over, I completed the fantastically unimpressive total of 7.5 miles in 3 runs. My route at the moment is a 2.5 mile loop and my first goal is to run it without stopping two sessions in a row, then I'll increase it to 3 miles. This week I made it through it once with no stops for walking.
I do all my running very early in the morning - I'm generally on the road at about 6:40 a.m. - this is the best time for me because the kiddies need thier time with daddy in the evenings.

This week there was great variety in temperature, freezing on Monday, and Friday was as mild as a summer morning - albeit a dark summer morning.

I have also realised (after reading a post on boards.ie) that I have to start taking my asthma seriously - so instead of completely ignoring my inhaler I have started to take a couple of blasts of it about a half an hour before I leave the house, this seems to have helped no end. I actaully thought my wheezing was a sign of my lack of fitness, my doctor has prescribed an inhaler but like I say I thought if I was fit the wheezing would stop and the asthma was a thing from the past.
