    "Hoo-ah"

Or other related grunts, such as "hua", "huah", "oo-up", "oo-ah" and so on.

There are perfectly good words in the English language that can be used. "Yes" strikes me as being a fair alternative.

'Drill is a pill, and must be taken twice daily'
But the most annoying is the over use of the word 'smash'.
'I'm going to smash some corn flakes'
'I smashed her back doors in'
    'fookin smash it up'
    'SMMAAAAASSSSH!'
    Any use of German, particularly in conjunction with the word 'Chad';
    'That was uber chad'

Duffers....there is now half a cup of coffee all over my fookin P.C. :D
    Back doors ehh. Smashing!!!

In fairness, I never minded the AML being called 'The Panzer'

Then again, I'm also someone who knows the Panzerlied in the original German.

Ah, your just annoyed that your an officer now so you don't get to say it anymore.

However, I really really can't stand when Irish soldiers say them!!!! They are totally American Military Lexicon, leave it out!!!

Once around the square is only like .5K(or is it 0.5mi?). Not that bad really, Now, 6 times around the square, and I would not be happy!!!

"Smile Lads, Yer gettin paid for this" - Got that said to me during 72 on the ground, that I was doing free because I had too many days done. So no MotherFcuker, I am not getting paid for it!!!!

6 times is only 3k, not that bad really :D

"Next parade, Dress Cat 4 Romeo" not nice because that particular time involved over an hour of contact drills around an airfield. Anyone familiar with CBRN will know just how unpleasant that can be.

"Everyone into the Tony Quinn position"

"Cossack walk to the armoury.... With your rifles over your heads"

    "Hit the deck!"

"Everyone outside now!" not nice because I still hadn't finished my food :(

"I'll run you all until you die"

There's way too many to list :D

    'Get it done',

'We need two for the kitchens'

    Gonna have to g with...

''Get it done...'' -Though as an NCO I admit to having done that once too much too.

''Shut Up the Yap'', ''Shut Up Smiling'' , ''Shut Up Lookin' Around'' , ''Shut Up, Swaying in the wind'' - The list is endless..!

    Brilliant and true!

I HATE when people call pouches...pooches.....! Why?!? I dont see any labradors hanging out of their belts.

I also as a rule hate the over-use of American phraseology. There's always one twat who has watched Black Hawk Down too many times. Hooo ahh etc.

The infamous Theart Iompaigh Arás :D is always a good one.

When looking for volunteers "Hands up who takes a medium smock?" *hands shoot up* "Very good, report to the kitchens"

    Or often found Pinned up on the recruit billet doors;

Sign up sheet for Underwater Knife Fighting Course / Butts team for Mortar Range.

Or the old favorites "get up to the CQ and get me:"

    A Bucket of steam
    DPM paint
    A leg of salmon
    Skirting Board Ladder
    Sky Hooks
    Keys to the square
    Glass hammer
    Some forks for the soup

"I hope you brought enough for everyone in the class??"

"Turn to your right and jog on..."

    "What do you think I am [a stationery shop/a bank/your mate/your mother]???

"We can stay here all night if we have to..."

"Look up off the ground, if there was any money down there I would have picked it up by now!"

Strangely enough (and no, I've never said the above phrase) I did once see a fifty cent coin on the ground by the square - I was so surprised that when I tried to pick it up I kicked it into the gutter accidentally. Ah well. :o

My training NCO's used to use that alot, even if we were marching Perfectly, necks to collar. They just like to say it!!!

Not much of a saying but something that happened to a lad on the GPMG.

This was just training, not on the range.

Lad lying behind the GPMG,with the mistake of having his finger on the trigger when he shouldent.

Que PDF Sgt:"PRIVATE,WHERE IS YOUR TRIGGER FINGER?!!!!!"

Que Pte:"HERE SGT!!!!" followed by him holding his trigger finger up in the air for the Sgt to see.:p

Sgt puts his head into his hands and walks away:p
