    Hey guys,

Does anyone know of a freeware editor that supports mpeg4 high-def encoding? I tried Windows Movie Maker (yeah, I know - why bother?) and Sony Vegas 8.0c, but neither of them support the format.

    Any suggestions welcome.

when you say mpeg 4 high def do you mean H.264?
If so then Final Cut does. I'm sure most do with an update patch.
You could always convert to something else first and re-encode.
If its freeware you're looking for I'd say the conversion route is your best option.
Try using SUPER or MPEGstreamclip to convert to something else that works with editing software you are always using.
