I want to avoid the Canaries as the weather isnt guaranteed....I'd love to go to maybe the caribbean or Asia however I'm new to Ireland and all 2 week hols seem so expensive from here...I thought I'd be clever and try to source a cheaper holiday from Belfast however every search I do comes up with nothing - do flights even leave Belfast??!!

Anyway, as you can tell I'm frustrated about this, My budget is approx €800...any advice on holiday companies/destinations would be great. thank you

Try Dominican Republic, wouldn't be my top choice but with €800 to spend
you should get a week package there. Check with Budget and others for
AI packages. Weather will be better than Canaries.

maldives might be feasible (check the bargain forum, i recall seeing a week there for around that price), and i'll also second dominican republic. had a great time when i went there. some lovely places and caters for all budgets

It might be worth checking holidays from Manchester or Gatwick as the money you spend on the flight there may be a lot less than the savings, especially with sterling on a downer at the moment.

If you do that, then the world is almost your oyster. The Dominican Republic is about the cheapest caribbean holiday destination and I had a great time there, although it rained a lot!! Sharm is also a good bet, we went in March and it was over 30degrees everyday. The last few package holidays I have been on have been with First Choice, or Falcon which is their Irish sister company.

Check out Tobago as well, it is small and quiet but I loved it both times i went.

virgin atlantic do flights to barbados, st.lucia, antigua, puerto rico etc. for reasonable prices. U wud av to get flight to london gatwick, as flights to caribbean with virgin operate out of gatwick. U shud be able to get it for 800.00 - defo for 1,000
