Granted its hard to tell from a few short clips but he looks sharp as a switchblade from what I have seen of him during training.

Seems to be great discipline and work ethic within the camp.

Of course we will see in the fight if it pays dividends but I reckon Ricky's biggest regret as a fighter will be the fact he didnt dump the amateur crowd earlier. I feel his training team really held him back. What do people reckon?

Why are people so behind Hatton, a glorified barroom brawler, and so down on Calzaghe, a much classier fighter. He was a marketing ploy of Sky, and is the only thing that makes them money on PPV, Hatton v Khan anyone???

Hatton is a good honest pro - different type of fighter compared to Joe.

And yes please that is on PPV I would pay for - Love to see Hatton KO Amir.

Malignaggi is no mayweather(he seems to think he's on his level) what makes you so sure ,Malignaggi is a decent fighter but I can't see him winning against hatton

Well I'm looking at it from the view point of a Hatton stoppage.

Malignaggi is very hard to stop. The only thing he doesn't have is ko power otherwise he'd clean up. He is a more skillfull fighter than Hatton so i expect him to take this on points. If Hatton stops him i'll be very impressed.

Absolutely. Mal is a tough guy who can take a shot and hang in.
Lazcano had Hatton in all sorts of trouble and went the 12.
I cannot see why Mal won't also go the distance.

Hatton's best days are well behind him and he will not faze Mal with his
    rush and bull tactics

any idea what to make of the rumors regarding Hattons struggle with the weight this time?

Id go for malignaggi to win on points.

    Rumors?

Hatton is notorious for struggling with the weight.

I wouldn't be at all surprised. It's part of the reason he is
not as good as maybe he could be.Between fights he
is a menace for 'easy' living and bad diet etc!

No he's not! He's 1.44 on Betfair which is somewhere in between 1/2 and 1/3. He's 1/3 with Paddys. Don't know where you got those crazy odds. Probably best to change bookmakers buddy.

Was thinking those odds were to much. Hatton is favorite, but not by that much!

what makes you think that? Cotto couldn't stop him and Malignaggi suffered a fractured jaw in that one. Hatton may win on points as Malignaggi doesn't have the power to keep him at bay but i'll be shocked if Hatton stops Malignaggi.

Ok, Mal isn't a terrific banger, but Hatton has hardly a granite chin. I used to think so, but PBF and Lazcano have me doubting this.

If Mal is accurate and busy, this may well do the trick. It won't take a whopper, just several well placed and flush shots can really dent a man. Hatton will need to have more stamina than what he showed V Lazcano.

I really do not believe you need to have a heavy heavy punch to STOP Ricky!
You need to be slick and accurate and nailing him as he rushes in.

Hatton's ability in the past to take shots was a lot to do with his tremendous
    conditioning.

He's past peak now and all that dodgy living may well see him fade
    a lot earlier than usual!

I;ll be making a poll on this for the comp and will be voting for hatton to win by stoppage, i like how he looks in training, looks sharp and his defensive movements look great-Mayweather sr can only improve ricky..

Malignaggi just irritates me tbh, he was poor in his last fight but in theory could be a really good boxer, this will be a genuine interesting match!

50/50 in my opinion..thats the best way..

Floyds speed was the deciding factor against Hatton, Paulie is a skill fighter a dude that I respect and like to watch but he aint that fast.

I've been a fan since Cotto beat him up - But I still think Hatton will do a number on him.

    two things:

    1) Excitement
    2) Character

Ricky is a real character, he has that working class hero vibe about him that people respond too. Calzaghe (probably wrongfully tbh) comes across as arrogant and he'sa lot duller than Hatton.

As for the excitement its not even close imo. No doubting for a second JC's quality as a fighter and I have massive respect for him but he is not what I would call an exciting fighter....on the other hand we have Hatton and the performances against Tszu, Maussa and Castillo...even the Collazo and Mayweather fights were dramatic. Plus Ricky has the Susie Q, that big hook to the body...a fighter with that will always be more popular than one who gradually grounds their opponent down with the pitter patter punches.

    Spot on.

Ricky is the guy next door that "done good".

A likable dude that I find hilarious.

every time a hatton fight is coming up there are the usual experts predicting that his boozing etc will cost him in the hope that this is the case even though every time they are proved wrong. God loves a trier.
