connecting laptop to mixer

    my mixer is connected to pc but if i want to connect a laptop aswell for adding sounds what cable do i get any help would be great

    depends on your soundcard but if you're using the internal then you probably need mini-jack to double phono.

    yeah im using internal soundcard and got mini jack to double phono but still cant get it to work

    Well when bands bring a laptop or recorder to a gig where i'm doing live sound I use a mini jack to jack connector and then usually into a Di box since the patchbay where I do gigs doesn't have jack inputs. I do everything in mono though with live sound.

    a mini jack to double phono should work- can't see how it isn't if there's phono ins/tape returns. you could always pick up 2 of those phono to jack adapters and just use 2 channels panning one left. one right

    i have the laptop going into the mixer with the double phono cables and the mixer is connected to the pc with usb ,im using like audacity to record a podcast but the sound from the laptop isnt getting through to the pc

    make sure you have the correct drivers selected in auducity.

    other than that, you do know you can run an audio cable from the mixer to your pc? just record it that way.

    so i run a jack cable from the mixer to the pc ?, well i want to do a live show so i need mic from the mixer and sounds and stuff from the laptop is that possible ?
