    Hi,

I was just wondering why a fillet of steak is far more expensive compared to sirloin steak or any other cut of steak when they both have the same nutritional benifits. Is it just becasue of the taste. I brought 300Grams at lunch time for a whopping €11. I said I would buy it for dinner this evening as a treat seeing as it was so expensive

a fillet is the best part of the animal, its just lean meat unlike a sirloin where there would be strips of fat throughout!

Simple supply & demand. Most consider it the best so pay more, it is more tender than sirloin.
