    Hi all,
Our electrician told me that he will run a tv satellite cable throughout the house for us,
I looked at the cable last night and it reads hg6 high performance satellite cable,
From looking up rg6 on the web, it appears to be just an ordinary coax cable,
Should i get him to put in a better cable?
    Thanks lads

that coax will work, but later...god only knows what inventions will take place

personally, i'd use CT100 as an absolute minimum, the majority of my place
is done in CT125 (with some CT100) don't forget at least 2 runs to
each sat point. (for full sky plus) plus at least one cat6 for TV over broadband. (i've doubled up just in case)

do a search here and diy and satellite forum for full details

    I agree with de_man above.

Bring 2 cables from sat dish to central point for Sky+, also bring an aerial cable back to this point. (Might get freeview from digital tv aerial.) Then sat and tv can be brought to all rooms, as required from this central point.

Put in the best you can - try and future proof yourself as best as you can.

I have run a high grade cable (kerpen homenet) around my new build.
300m cost €850 .sockets/patch cables and hub to follow. It is cabable of taking 2.4ghz of data on a single cable and is ultra flexible in that services can be changed from tv to audio to internet to cctv to automation functions from the one socket.Plus it is also able to function mutilpe services from the same socket at the same time.
I won't post the provider but pm if you want details
