Crunch game for England. They're being destroyed at home and in Oz in the press. They've been labelled 'Duds Army' by the British media, and this will be make or break time for a squad who are now being regarded as the worst England squad in living memory.

Unless they do something miraculous on Saturday morning its fair to say that a lot of big reputations will have taken a massive hit. Tony Smith seems increasingly out of touch with reality and his recent pronouncement that 'England can still win the world cup' seems fanciful in the extreme.

In another blow to the England squad, his request for a NH referee to officiate has come to nothing and an Aussie will do the honours. (England are being penalised to death at the tackle, they just cant seem to get to grips with SH ref's interpretations).

Gardner and Maguire have been dropped from the initial nineteen man squad.

Wouldn't anticipate any change for the NZ squad who took England to the cleaners in the second half last weekend.

England 19-man squad: P Wellens (St Helens), M Calderwood (Wigan), M Gleeson (Warrington), K Senior (Leeds), L Smith (Leeds), L Pryce (St Helens), R Burrow (Leeds), A Morley (Warrington), M Higham (Wigan), J Peacock (Leeds, capt), G Ellis (Leeds), J Jones-Buchanan, R Purdham (Harlequins), J Graham (St Helens), B Westwood (Warrington), J Roby (St Helens), K Sinfield (Leeds), J Wilkin (St Helens), G Hock (Wigan)

New Zealand team named. Interesting that Leuluai switched to hooker. The Kiwis obviously intend to speed things up around the play-the-ball.

New Zealand: Lance Hohaia (NZ Warriors), Sam Perrett (Sydney Roosters), Simon Mannering (NZ Warriors), Jerome Ropati (NZ Warriors), Manu Vatuvei (NZ Warriors); Benji Marshall (Wests Tigers), Nathan Fien (NZ Warriors); Nathan Cayless (Parramatta, capt), Thomas Leuluai (Wigan), Adam Blair (Melbourne), Sika Manu (Melbourne), David Fa'alogo (South Sydney), Jeremy Smith (Melbourne).

Replacements: Issac Luke (South Sydney), Greg Eastwood (Brisbane), Bronson Harrison (Wests Tigers), Sam Rapira (NZ Warriors).

Better from England, but still woefully under-par..something radically wrong in that camp. Aus V NZ final next weekend probably a foregone conclusion, shame really...
