myself and some others who can classify themselves as sligo-ish folk are trying to get a trip done either in sligo, or to g-tac during the first weekend of december. anyone in sligo area,PM me for further info and if you want to be kept updated with how this goes.

ya, was at last gathering. great place and great fun. location will be decided on whether or not we can get people out there. some are unwilling to travel all the way to g-tac. some are unwilling to go anywhere if it is cold, or wet, or they are playing wow. some dont have aegs yet and want to rent them. so lots of things to factor in. the more people there are willing to make the effort, and help out with wheels or aeg's the better things will be. we have a few local options, and a few other locations we want to check out for viability. all on the hush hush until we have something solid arranged of course. dont want to get peoples hopes up. but so far it is looking good for something happening on the 7th of december. exactly what i cannot say yet.

well it is looking good so far. enough people seem keen to be able to field reasonable teams for a variety of gametypes. so far it seems most likely to be going ahead in the sligo area. this is good for the purpose of networking with local airsofters (many of whome do not use boards or similar)
on the downside there will be no rental kit or any of that jazz. anyone needing bb's can get me to go buy some during the week before and bring them down to sligo. anything needing to be bought, i will do a run out to eirsoft on the friday 5th december. PM or text me your order. (within reason. i am not lugging saws down to sligo. ammo etc is fine) if you do want me to get stuff for you, you have to get it off me on the day. dont leave me with a load of stuff. common sense stuff really.

anyone with spare aeg's, or goggles/masks that they are willing to lend to people who want to try out airsoft, or just cannot afford an aeg this side of christmas, please let me know asap so i can allocate spare kit to those in need. so far we have 4 aeg-less people and one spare aeg. its a big aeg, but not big enough to get four people behind. (although that would be funny to try)

no matter where the location, we will need wheels to get there. if you own a vehicle, let me know how many you can squeeze in. if you do not, let me know that also. we will be meeting in sligo town before convoying to location.

accomadation; anyone who needs a floor to crash on can probably be sorted out no problem. we will probably meet up the evening before for a social and all that. if you dont live locally it is a good idea to bring a sleeping bag. so far we have multiple people from Mayo confirmed.

final details will not be dealt with over the public boards for privacy reasons. it is not an official meet, but an informal type thing. if you want in you must register interest to be PM'd the fine details. (tigger, you are on the list) hopefully this method of doing things is ok with mods here. any mods wanting more info as to why, please throw me a PM. anyone with any ideas, suggestions or other valid input, please put them up here. thanks.

Many soldiers went to war (ref:Russians in WW2) without weapons, they had to gather weapons from their fallen comrades! Would they go for that? :D

if we can skirmish in sligo i shall provide face protection and liftage and aegs for two as long as they are on my team cos i annt getting shotted with my own guns (again)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 954 ✭✭✭MacAonghusa

Can provide liftage also but not aeg's or face protection as some lads here have dibs on them.

    Hi all,

Am interested in the Airsoft Buzz, and would like to attend a meet as an observer if I could before I commit.

So will there be details published here as to the location and time of the skirmish?

    doncha wanna play

you can see what it looks like in any of lethal bullett's or snipersights videos

Thanks for the advice Tigger, but I prefer to see for myself as well as get to talk to others about the sport, afterall it is or can be quite an expensive sport (hobby), so getting advice from people who are in the know is a most worthwhile exercise and can then help someone like myself to decide whether or not to take up the sport.

no. i will not be putting up final details on locations or times on the public boards. the reason for this is it is not any class of an "official" meet. it is totally informal, with no provided insurance or cover of any kind. everyone is and will be responsibal for their own actions and wellbeing. by putting up notice on boards as if it were an official and orginised event similar to the gathering, i would feel as if i am implying that i am in a position to look after people who come out. at the moment i have no promisses regards location or transportation. i cannot promise accomidation or food or even water. the success of something like this will totally rely on the initiative and involvement of the people involved. if someone arrives with a car but is like "i am not taking passangers" (it has happened) it would leave other really stuck there is nothing i can do about it (apart from ensure he never takes part in an airsoft game with us again)
all final arrangements will be made through PM's, text and email to those who want to get involved. and the skirmish itself will go exactly as well as the effort put into it by those coming along. i view my job as being no more than to herd people in the area together on a set day. then we can see what happens. i dont want people giving me grief cos there is no portaloo or chip van kinda thing. lol. hopefully this makes sense.

ddoom. as far as i am concerned you are welcome to tag along and observe and help out if you like. we can get you involved. you can play non-combatent roles, and i am sure someone will give you a blast at a skirmish. someone will get tired and sit one out or the like. just throw me a PM if you decide you want to come and i will keep you informed as and when i have solid info. all i have right now is this. it will be on the 7th of dec. it will be in sligo. as to what the "it" actually is i have no idea. that will really be both the decision and the responsibility of whoever arrives.

Dearg Doom, pop along for a hour or two if you get the chance, it would be the best way to learn a bit about the sport.
