U.S.roadtrip/Caribbean honeymoon

    Getting hitched in March and we cannot get our asses in gear for the honeymoon. OH has been to the west coast, new york and chicago, so we've kinda decided on doing a 7/8 day roadtrip, taking in Memphis and Nashville. The only airports we can seem to get to directly from here or London are Atlanta and Washington DC - is either of these a good starting point for our trip i.e. is there much to see en route? I really need some suggestions guys!

    The other half of my problem is that we want to take in a few days on a Caribbean island after the road-trip and we cannot decide on one. We're not really into the exclusive resort, dress up for dinner, do nothing all day-type honeymoon. Any island that is fairly accessible from the U.S. and has a bit of culture to it (he won't go to Cuba, don't ask...) would be great.

    Has anyone done this type of trip before? Any suggestions appreciated:confused:
