Ok you know the street off Grafton street at Brown Thomas( Chatham St, Harry St, or Wicklow St.)

Why the hell does it smell like sheep? Seriously, Its the city centre??
Is there sheep in one of the buildings, maybe they shave sheep? Maybe the sheep are in the sewers below? Sheep rats?

Dont believe me, go smell for yourself, walk out of AIB on that street!

Are you mad, it smells really badly of piss! From the alley beside the ATM. Right opposite the Chanel and Louis Vuitton handbags, I bet Brown Thomas aren't too pleased.

It's coming from Glendinning Lane off Wicklow Street - (smells a bit like Jeyes Fluid?)

(There was a thread here before about it).

No it smells like piss and has done so for years. I think there was a body found there a few years back. It was there for a while before it was found. The smell of piss was so overpowering it covered the stench of a decaying corpse

I swear it must be the grottiest place in Dublin. Why does it ALLWAYS smell of piss. Surly it must get cleaned once in a while

Nah, there's much worse. Harbour Court for instance.

Presumably because night after night, people are urinating there.

It's also utilised as a rear entrance for several businesses so I suppose that doesn't help and the fact that it is full of rubbish skips.

There's a lane on the North Quays, just east of O'Connell Street.

    Scummy place.

Just checked a map there, it would seem to be Harbour Court.

I hate that place, they should burn it down.

Hmm. As a born-and-bred Dub, I wasn't aware until now what sheep smelled like.

I now know that they smell like Wicklow St.

Thank you for your educational post.

Presumably the smell is like sheep dip as opposed to sheep. ;)

It smells like sheep because it's named after countreh.

Word of warning: Keep well away from Cork street :pac:

Yeah, that's what I would have thought: strong disinfectant or something.

Wasn't a body found there a few years back?

As for pissy alleys, the one that runs behind Aston Quay(?), parallel to Fleet Street was always pretty rank.

I am a born and bred Dub, but I helped out on a sheep farm. Sheepdip smells exactly like Jayes Fluid.

They must wash down the alleyway with Jayes fluid reminding our rural brethren of long days dipping sheep.

Yeah Harbour Court, street between Abbey and Eden Quay, a tasty mix of bins, pish, excrement and scum bag all in one.

There's a little back lane beside where I work, Prices Lane joins Fleet Street and the Quays. It's a favourite of bums, junkies and alcoholics as a public toilet.

It's due to be closed up soon enough by putting gates at the ends and making it access only. I don't know how they're going to do the bit that runs toward Marlborough St though.

Brown Thomas can't be too pleased. All their fancypants designer boutiques face directly onto the smelliest street in Dublin.

Always a few dodgy characters or goings- on up there.
Was walking by around 6pm one evening a few weeks ago when I could see two junkies having a good bare-knuckle scrap (shirts off) and a good crowd of junkies and scumbags cheering them on.

Yes, Harbour Court always seems to have a few undesireables hanging around.

I've pics of nearly every other back alley in town but, despite several attempts, I've never managed to pluck up the courage to pull out a camera with the types that hang around there!

(I must give it another go soon!)
