The original is shite, the remake is even shitter.

I really loved the original. The remake looked crap. I like the actress who plays Kath (she was great in Will and Grace) but casting Selma Blair as Kim was silly. The best thing about Kim was that she thinks she's shíthot but she's really not. Doesnt really work as well with a sexy, skinny actress.

As far as I know they showed 2 episodes in Australia and the rating dropped so severly by the time they showed the second one that they decided to stop altogether and they started showing repeats of the original.

That's exactly what happened. It got absolutely slated and was instantly binned. Only a matter of time before it gets chopped in the US as well.

I can't believe they actually showed it in Australia! The original was so good. How is a US remake with a pretty actress playing Kim going to be a hit with Aussie audiences?!

They seem to miss the essential point sometimes in US remakes.
You can't have a real foxy moron playing Kim.

The original was fantastic. Very similar to Curb Your Enthuasiasm in my opinion.

Haven't seen the US version but a hot girl playing Kim does miss the point a bit.
