oohhh, tough choice between the Mirrors edge levels or Gladiators (complete with dreaded travelator)

Although the funniest one was the Back to the Future one. You drive the DeLorean past signs which say 10....20....30..........80....88 Then you drive past an electric wall and then an explosion. It sounds stupid but when I first seen it I thought it was brilliant simply for the genius of it

Check out this thread, has all the best user created levels I have ever seen

The Gladiators one and the Ninja Challenge are great fun multiplayer

Best one I've seen so far ,has yellow trains in it and loads of levels. Loads of flames ,very hard to get through it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 541 ✭✭✭Vorrtexx

There's one titled 'Jail Break' I think. It's good fun, you have to solve simple puzzles in each room to break out.

Everyone try Sackboy Rocket Race. It's brilliant. By some guy called Sharpshooter_656, I think.

    I helped with Sharpshooter_656's level.

    Giant floaty ******* FTW!!

the "world of colour" level is fantastic, as are that guy's other levels. He had a brilliant God of War level in the beta along with his other level, but that one doesn't seem to have made it to the final game. Must have been "moderated", ie, deleted.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,457 ✭✭✭giggsy664

I think I played the god of war one.

Did it have little boxes that opened and points popped out?

Escape from Alcatraz is good, and as was mentioned, the Ninja challenge, along with the Mirrors Edge level.

I only got this yesterday so had been paying Story mode for an hour or two first off. Then I said i'd give online a quick go.......played 4 hours straight of it! Great fun when you have 3 other lads going through the levels with you.

I see trophies are awarded far more liberally in this as opposed to the likes of Wipeout HD. I thought it was funny that I had earned about 12 trophies in the space of 10 minutes. A couple of silver ones too.

    Fantastic game though!

Only got this online for the first time yesterday and I'm fairly disappointed with the levels I could find. There's so many "play this level to win trophies" levels clogging up the system that it's hard to find anything good. I thought the beta was of a much higher standard.

But then I only spent maybe an hour having a look through what I could find, there's sure to be a lot of gems buried in there.

I figured that level was always on dodgy ground given it had sections where you were instructed to "sacrifice" people by throwing them into firey pits.

Obviously there's the copyright infringement too but since GoW is Sony's own game I can't see any reason for them not to allow tribute levels, it's surely a win-win situation for Sony having players make good quality levels for LBP that also serve a second purpose of advertising their other games.

what's the name of the mirrors edge level guys?

    Mirror's Edge

It's probably been deleted if you can't find it. Most of the levels based on other games are gone.

I can see this being very annoying!

The problem is that most of those levels have used the playstation eye to import copyrighted images. It's mainly a problem for the beta levels, because the people who made those levels can't access them to change them. They say what they're going to do eventually is say message people with those levels and suggest what they can change to make the level okay to publish. Like taking down an image of mario or something. The person's level isn't deleted from thier save game or anything, so they still have the level in their game they just can't publish it.

The Mirrors Edge level was there when I was on last night anyway.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,457 ✭✭✭giggsy664

Ah. That's why my motorstorm level isnt there. Probably because I used a picture of the ms cover

That might be safer because the only copyrighted thing they used was the title, there were no images in it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,457 ✭✭✭giggsy664

The mirrors edge level is there.

Very good. Based on the demo. You can even do a wallrun! I wish they put in the helicopter though!!

Anyone having difficulty connecting to multiplayer.I keep getting a message saying 'Failed to connect to players'.Pain in the rocks, consider it's the main reason I wanted it!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,785 ✭✭✭James Forde

played the gladiators level last nite, have to say it was quality!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,753 ✭✭✭qz

This kept me up till all hours last night.
There's a level based on the Saw films which, although short, is pretty good.
Escape from Alcatraz and Jailbreak (I think that's the name of it) are also quality, as is World of Colour.
Have a look at the Ghostbusters level if you can!

Also were the servers down for anyone else this morning?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,644 ✭✭✭Asmodean

Did anyone play the music based levels? Not so much a level but sitting on a track and activating music blocks to recreate tunes. Lot of effort put into these but seeing as the two I played were from the Final fantasy series that whole copyright thing might put a halt to it fairly lively.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,785 ✭✭✭James Forde

played a "sweet child o mine" level, just standing on a skateboard, going along playing the song in MIDI, must've taken a while to make

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,457 ✭✭✭giggsy664

Sweet child o mine was in the beta.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,653 ✭✭✭steviec

I've uploaded my first proper level - It's called "Nightshift"

It's mostly a level I made in the beta but I added some bits and pieces from the full game. Still want to tweak it though because I've some other ideas plus people have been telling me it's too hard at the moment...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,565 ✭✭✭quad_red

Aw, that looks so cool

I tell ye, LittleBigPlanet is the first game that has me serious oggling up a PS3.

Haha, played that last night. Thought it was brilliant and very well made.

Some of the levels are just crap though. For every good level theres 5 bad ones, and 50 "OMG PLAY MY LEVEL INSTANT TROPHIES!!!!!!"

they should allow you to mark them as trophy boosting or something and get rid of the levels whose sole purpose is to get a trophy.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 201 ✭✭jonathan11

a bit off topic, but does anyone think that the levels are a bit limited for offline play? I finished all the levels after 2 days, not 100% mind you. unfortunately I don't have internet at home so I'm stuck with only these...

How do the best user created levels compare with the standard offline levels?
    Cheers....

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,605 ✭✭✭Fizman

I played a very good level last night. Its basically Tetris, with Sackboy hovering around on a jet pack lifting the shapes into place. Its actually trickier than it sounds. Very well created level though I would definately recommend playing it.
Its called Tetrin.jp if I remember correctly.

The two ghostbusters levels are very good too.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 535 ✭✭✭Zatoichi

Yep, Mirror's Edge is still up, I'm sure all this copywrite grey-area will be cleared up in the coming months. The single-player levels are getting better and better as I progress.

Has anyone found any good vids of people using the level editor?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,785 ✭✭✭James Forde

found a "tekeshi's castle" level very impressive also

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,457 ✭✭✭giggsy664

Ah dammit. My motorstorm lvl was "moderated" (I had the motorstorm cover art in it) and so was my race level! Which didn't infringe any copyright at all!

I put a small level up during the beta and I can still edit it. You just need to copy it back to your moon first.

Have a go, called "Cardboard Castle" - its pretty short, and easy, but it was a first attempt and only took a few hours. Shows how quick it is to throw something together....

I imagine the moderation on this game will calm down after Xmas. The initial crack down is to stop any bad news about the game before Xmas as they have a massive marketing campaign and they don't want to give parents a reason to not buy it or have anyone start lawsuits or anything like that at the moment as everyone is watching the title.

After Xmas they won't care because the attention will have moved onto the next thing in gaming.

Finally found that crazy jap one where the game turns into a 80's type space shooter. Crazy what people can do with the game.

When you select quick play from the main menu where are the levels sourced from? Are they MM levels or user created ones?

User made. The only MM levels are in the story mode.

    I need help

I am trying to get the tutorials trophy, but I can't find the tutorials!! There's no "do next tutorial" in the pop-it and I can't find any icon with a "?" beside it!! I had said "skip tutorial" on a few of them. Is that why??

Btw for reference, I'm on end of the islands, incase that matters.

Have you tried to create anything yet? There are tutorial options everytime you choose a material or object you've never used before.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,457 ✭✭✭giggsy664

I've already made 5 levels. I just can't find a "?" near anything!!! It's probably because I clicked "skip tutorial"

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,804 ✭✭✭Benzino

that could be a bug, as there should be a ? icon on the middle of the top row of your pop-it menu i believe

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,920 ✭✭✭AnCapaillMor

Same boat here, the last tutorial i got was how to create a being.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,457 ✭✭✭giggsy664

I did all the piston / gadgets ones. That's all .
