Picture crap - alignment problem?

Came down on Sunday morning and our Satellite (Sky) picture is crap on all channels. It's grainy and jumping (almost like the old horizontal hold is slightly off).

It was fine on Saturday night. I rewired the F connector (three times) and got no improvement. Is is possible that the dish got blown out of alignment overnight? It's been up on the wall for 7 years now and there's been stronger winds than last Saturday night. If so, does anyone know of anyone in the Maynooth area who does dish alignment?

I'm sure it's possible that the overnight wind might have pushed your dish out of alignment or lodged some debris on your dish or lnb. Follow the line back as far as you can to see if there is any damage, if it's a Sky installation you should have no problems seeing the cable run back to the dish. You might try this thread where a problem similar to yours was discussed previously.

Take a look at the signal test menu in services, both bars should be at least 1/2 way across, quality is the important one. Are you connected to the Tv via a scart lead? Might worth checking if its pushed fully home.

Signal about 30%. It's usually about 70-80%. SCART is fully secure. It was working fine before bed on Saturday and gone on Sunday morning without anything moving (indoors anyway). Chances are it's the dish alignment or the LNB it's looking like :(

So now to find someone around Maynooth who can re-align a dish cos I wouldn't know where to start.
