Looking for a great foundation

    Hey all

I have been using the elizabeth arden foundation, and I have decided that I would like a change.

It is incredibly thick, and more suited to a older person who needs a much thicker coverage.

Can anybody recommend a good foundation please? I would like a medium coverage, and I don't really like powders so I am not interested in the mineral ones..

I hear the chanel one is good? Or the MAC Superfit??

    Thanks :)

u shld go to dept store where they hav few brands & get samples coz everyone has diff taste & diff skin. if u ask they will giv u advice & makeover

i prefer tinted moisturiser at d moment....it gives a great tint & plenty of coverage but not heavy

I use the Mac face and body foundation - it's liquid, and nice and light to apply. Just got a refill in BTs grafton st at the weekend. Think it was about 36e for 120ml but it lasts for ages (though that might be because i don't wear it a lot ... :) )

Also this thread seems to have a lot of suggestions:

All depends on your skin type. Best to try samples or get it applied in store first.

What EA foundation did you use, Flawless finish?

Superfit by Clinique or MAC StudioFix Fluid might be a good option for you. Both Medium coverage and long lasting foundations. (For Combination/Oily Skin)

Or if you like the compact foundations you could try MAC Studio Tech or Clinique Superbalanced Compact. (For Combination/Oily Skin).

Just about to say, as Larianne did, it depends very much on your skin type. What suits me probably won't suit you!

Your best bet is probably to go into a department store (BT's, Debenhams, ARnotts...) and have a look round and talk to the people at the various counters! They should be able to advise you on a foundation to suit your skin and your needs! Just don't go in when it will be crazy busy, like say a Saturday afternoon, because they won't have to time to concentrate on what you need! :D

Clinique Superfit is amaaaaazing! I used to be exclusively a MAC foundation wearer but I tried this after seeing a good review and i'm glad I did.

If you have an oily t-zone the superfit foundation is fantastic, it really stops you getting shiny.

After trying practically every foundation going, ive finally settled on Royal Effems Extreme Lasting Foundation http://www.royaleffem.co.uk/index.php?option=content&task=view&id=37
Its about €32 and gives brilliant coverage and lasts all day and is actually used as a wedding makeup its that good. The amount of compliments i get on it is brilliant.

i used to use elizabeth arden too. found it too thick.u should try mac studiofix fluid. its great!!! also max factor liquid illusion applied with a brush is good too. but make sure u apply with a brush the little sponge they give u is useless!

Channel teint innocence in my opinion....is amazing!!!
Its pretty pricey about 30euro, but worth every penny! I find its not too heavy and really nice to put on.
My sister uses it aswel and has completely different type of skin to me so seems to suit different skin types.

Another vote for Mineral Make up. There is a good few different makes out there. Its very light on your skin, easy to apply and gives great coverage.

I use Revlon colorstay liquid foundation - find that great - and it feels like you're not wearing any makeup

There is actually a new Olay product out with a hint of foundation in it - I've been using it for a few weeks now and it's lovely! Very light coverage, but lasts the whole day! Cheap too at 16 euro ....

I use L'Oreal Infallible and really like it. 25% off it in Boots at the moment too.
