Windows XP and MS Word Problems

    Hi all,

I have Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005and my problem is that I'm unable to correctly download word documents.

It defaults to Wordpad, which I'm able to read but when the document is say an application form then the boxes and text runs outside of the page parameters.

I've downloaded Word Viewer from the MS download site, which at least gives me option of printing the forms but no editing.

I'm certainly no expert in the IT department so any advice or recommendations would be much appreciated.

Word viewer will only let you open the word documents read-only. If you want to edit them you will need to buy Microsoft Word. There is also a free suite of applications called Open Office, this has almost all of the features of Microsoft Office and can edit nearly all Word documents so download that first and give it a try.

Cheers Steve, I downloaded the OpenOffice application and it's done the job. Thanks again for the advice.
