from what i hear it's a very good aeg with the only weak point being its forgrip. i would reccomend the jg aug a3 as the internals are brilliant and can withstand a thrashing from a lipo.
anyway lethal bullet will tell you more about them hes a bit of a fanboy

i have had mine 2 months. i still like it a lot. i like the sight on it. i like how the weight is close to the body and how it balances on the one hand easy. i dont like (or use) the foregrip. i do like how you get a good all-rounder aeg WITH scope for so cheap. i may at some stage upgrade to the A3, but not for a while.

They are solid and just keep going, they as as good as the old Classic Army AUG and better than the newer ones which cost twice as much. While the fore grip may feel weak and loose, mine can support the weight of the 3.5kg AEG holding it by the grip alone and it didn't break.

I have a JG and a CA one, they are very good AEGs, and yes the JG AUG A3 from what I hear is better again plus you can kit it out any way you want.

    I resent that.

And mines not JG. All Augs have foregrip problems, my CA shattered, TMs snap too, and according to above JGs do too:p You can get a stronger pin, but there is still a chance it'll break. I dont like them anyways.

Kev raves about the A3, it has a really nice ROF but the masses of RIS rails dont suit everyones tastes.

Its a JG, its the same after 2 years after 2 weeks, they're reliable little beasts.

Also, I'm not sure, but I dont know how good the optic is on the JG A1, might be worth checking.

The optics on the JG are crystal clear, hell id probably say better than the real AUG.,

You can get a stronger pin,

    Excellent! Where?

I got a spare handle, but I'd really like to have the old one fixed.

From what i experience on a day to day basis, id say rails are to everyones tastes, and I'm the only person who finds them annoying.
Everyone seems to want something to attach the kitchen sink to, so the A3 gives you this in abunance, im getting a pic uplaoded at the moment of an A3 me and dex messed with in work which looks amazing.

And the A1 sight is fine, as Vtec said, i held the real one a couple of times and the site seemed bogey to me, JG one is grand...

The 'Austrian rifle' as I'm now made to call it is excellent, the JG version. Great mechbox on the new ones, and as we all know I rate the A3 highly but horses for courses. The mechbox is what matters, and it's very good indeed, bomb-proof and will happily take a 12v battery. Ask Dex or Richie, they've had a good look.

Sorry to bump, but I am getting this gun ASAP and was wondering... How does the body hold up? Any ideas of how to upgrade it (internally, not aestethically)? Can someone explain whether or not I can install a silencer? What groups does it get at 40 meters or so? Would it benifit from a new hopup and tightbore barrel? Any recommendations?

I recently found, to my surprise, that at the ranges we snipe at (60 meters or so max) that a 1.5x is just fine. Hell a 4x, like on my VSR, may well be a bit OTT (I used my 4x40 airsoft scope at 100 meters getting sub 1 MOA with realsteel .308).

Can I mod it to mount a short RIS on the barrel for laser and torch? Or am I barking up the wrong tree here.

The AUG (I have the JG A1) is the probably the easiest AEG to disassemble. All you have to do is take out two screws and a bolt and the mechbox slides out.

Very solid too, except for the aforementioned grip, but though it is a little wobbly mine has never caused me any problems.

It is ripe for upgrading, but you don't have to. Mine has always performed very well stock. Don't remember the grouping, but it is very tight at long distances.

The only thing I'd say about the A3 is that the extra rails add a lot of weight to the front. Other than that I'd say it's class.

If noone else has replied about the silencer I'll check the thread on mine when I get home and let you know.

Its a 14mm (CCW I think) so all the bog standard silencers should fit. Flashider screws off without any tools.

You can get small rail sections for the front, but they arent cheap for what they are.
