Sad to see Elijah go he was a decent worker and was a good heel. Kenny had potential as well but the WWE had no idea what to do with him.

I really really liked Burke. Thought the way he used his knees was very innovative and set him apart from the other athletic black dudes. He also cut a great promo for a young dude. Lena was useless and unless they have a CW division Kenny wasn't much use either though I do think he could make a good heel in the X division

Holy crap Burke! That's crazy, the general consensus I have always gotten from fans on the internet was that they liked him and felt that maybe he would have been worthy of a push.

The annual WWE spring clean is rather early this year.Must be the recession hitting Vince's pockets.....

Feck...Why Burke..The guy was class in the ring and above average on the mic...Spose they just had no role for him

Looks like I might be right about Dykstra being a stoner.

He was, in my opinion he was somewhat miscast as a heel.

WWE released their quarterly report and they said they were going to make cuts backs were they could. Keep an eyed out who loses on the television shows tonight.

Interesting. Do you mean that he should have started as a face or the style of heel that he was was wrong?

I think if anybody that WWE have released has potential to go to TNA and shine it would be Burke. I'd consider it a smart acquisition if they did sign him.

He was fantastic as a babyface in OVW so yeah he should have been a babyface. But WWE thought they knew better.

Pity about Burke i quite like him, seemed like someone who would bubble around the lower card for a while then get a decent push, never really happened though

    More releases? Damm.

Never cared for burke, mainly because he was never booked in a way which made me want to.

Wonder how many of these newly released "entertainers" we could see on a AWR tour? I know, its early days..:o

There was an in ring promo I remember with just him and Vince on ECW before Wrestlemania last year. Vince really endorsed Burke as a star of the future but nothing came of it.

Any word as to why he was released? Assuming they ran out of ideas for him, TNA probably beckons

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,006 ✭✭✭✭callaway92

I predict a release for Hawkins and/or Ryder...Anyone know if they are scheduled for action on Smackdown..they havent wrestled in a while now..And what Rovert said..Look out for who loses.

Was that not a few months before Wrestlemania 23? The one where he was complaining about the originals being useless to him and saying that Burke was the future of ECW. Twas the start of the New Breed

I didn't even know there was a diva called Lena Yada.

Me either, i imagined a very small, backwards speaking green diva from the name.

Slightly random, but from looking at her myspace she has a lot of pictures from hanging out with WWE'ers.

I thought having these kinda pics online is a no-no in WWE?

    CM Sabu?

Im surprised to see Burke go. Also kinda surprised about Kenny too. Never cared for him myself, but thought he was well liked among the WWE-ers?

Yada was a waste of time.

Doubt Hawkins or Ryder will be gone. How is Boogeyman still employed at all?

Not by Randy Orton (not that I'm saying he had sway in him being released).

Elijah Burke has posted a blog on his official website
    IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM POPE~
SUBMITTED BY ELIJAH ON MON, 11/10/2008 - 00:00
My time is at hand. Do not weep, nor mourn, for I am gone but 4(up) a while. Hold on to that which I gave you, share it in laughter with those around you. For I have landed but for a brief refueling, for the course YOUR Pope takes is far far away. Your Pope smiles as he writes this knowing that peace is filled within, to all within the Congregation, NOW the true test begin! And remember, MY COMEBACK SHALL BE GREATER THAN MY SETBACK!~ The Pope Has Spoken!

CM Punk, he's such a ladies man.

Off topic but, Comic Book Guy, sort out the sig, it's huge!

Im surprised to see Burke go.

Why? It's not like he was being used at all. They should've released him months back. I liked Burke

I always kinda thought he'd be kept employed and used for meaningless mid-card matches here and there, and put in the odd silly storyline here and there too, and then eventually they'd realise that people actually like him and after a while he'd eventually get a push.

    Kinda like Benjamin.

Dysktra and Yada I'm not fussed about, but Burke is an absolute vision.

Dissapointed Burke wasnt given much of a chance but if the creative powers that be had nothing for him, theres not many options left. Not a big fan of Kenny, although he does remind me of a young Owen Hart. As for Lena dont think ive ever seen her wrestle or talk. Wonder what was the point in calling her up to the main roster in the first place.

Kenny was a stand out in the Spirit Squad mainly because the rest were quite poor, People were taken in by his leg drop and thought if he can do that he must have some other great moves and might be a handy wrestler, unfortunately for him he didnt and was quite the one trick pony

    Johnny Jeter was class.

He was quite good but they went with Dolph instead who is just future release fodder, Can they never sign and develop anyone good?

Pattern- Sign, Assign to development for 2-3 years, Give ridiculous gimmick and assign to brand, Dont use or feature as a jobber, release

I know Cena,Lashley,Batista,Lesnar and more came through but there hasnt been any stars in a while

Back on topic: Who would be more than likely to get a "Spirit squad reunion".
TNA or the an indy tour, alá AWR? :D

Clearly had little passion for the business if he is thinking of leaving at the age of 22, and god help him if he is naive enough to think he would be a superstar in TNA:rolleyes:

KENNY DYKSTRA SAYS HE'S 'NEVER FELT SO FREE', WWE 'PUTS A BAD TASTE IN YOUR MOUTH WITH POLITICS AND GARBAGE
by Mike Johnson @ 10:13 AM on 11/13/2008

Recently released WWE star Kenny Dykstra posted the following statement on his Myspace.com blog in regard to his departure from the company:

First I would just like to say thank you to everyone who left a comment or message and for the support. It is greatly appreciated. Believe it or not I actually am happy to be gone from WWE. I don't have to do things around their schedule and I don't have to answer to anybody. I have never felt so free in my entire life. I had been working with WWE since I was 16 so I've never really known anything else. I did have fun with WWE but the creative side never used me properly or really gave me an opportunity to get over. it sucks when you know your better than the majority and you're only used to make people look good.

Will I stay wrestling? I'm not sure. WWE kind of puts a bad taste in your mouth after all the politics and garbage that can go on. I may try to go to TNA but we will see. I have 90 days to think about it and possibly try. although I wont rule it out. I do feel like they could use me much better. I would also like to have some matches with guys like A.J. and Kurt and Joe and Christian. plus Sting has always been my favorite so to work with him would be great too. but I guess I will wait it out and see what direction I try to go in. as for WWE I am glad to be gone. i thank them for everything and wish them the best too.

    Take care.

    Kenn Doane.

Total double bluff, he probably knows that the more you bury WWE the more likely they are going to bring you back.

He's only 22 so it's I'd be surprised if he didn't come back eventually
