anyone dealt with "What Deal on Cars & Vans" site/dealer?

Hey boardsies - anyone bought anything from "What Deal on Cars & Vans" ?

They seem to be an Irish based online only UK import shop. They list on carzone and a few other places. On the surface they seem to fall into the 'too good to be true' category. But there is a UK equivalent http://www.whatdealoncars.co.uk/. That site seems to be part of a larger What Deal network - http://www.whatdeal.co.uk/. So you could come to the conclusion they are legit.

Anyone out there dealt with them before?

    Cheers,
    -mem

I came across them just now and concluded it had to be too good to be true which is why I logged in here to see if anyone else heard of them.

The fact that all their prices are spectacularly below average and almost none of their pictures are of the actual cars makes it smell of some sort of phishing operation.

The VRT included indications also look off to me on a few examples I looked at.

I'd love to hear they're legit from someone who's bought from them or at least seen the physical set-up but from nowhere to offering a huge selection of cars and the points above puts me right off.

    Who is Ryan?

And, more importantly, who are you, Mr one-post wonder?

    Whiff of fish, anyone? :D

I have been on the phone to What Deal looking for information on VW Transporters. Ryan is a guy I have been chatting to in What Deal who has sent me details on one Van and I have requested details on more.

The reason I am a "one post Wonder" is that I have just registered on Boards.ie today as I wanted to find out if anyone had dealt with this company before!

    Spot on me thinks.
Mr one post wonder has yet to post any further details.
Website definitely looks to good to be true.

Anyone ever actually got a car from them? They seem to have a lot of ads on the usual used car websites.

On Monday I bought a 06 Galaxy in England, from a broker selling on behalf of a leasing company. Anyway, this very Galaxy (same reg) was being advertised by whatdeal a few weeks ago.

Looks like they are getting pics direct from leasing companies and advertising them, even though they don't actually own the cars. Then if they get an interested customer they probably go over to UK and then buy the car. Looks like a "buy to order" operation to me. That doesn't mean there is anything wrong with dealing with them ....

Thanks for the information. I'd rather deal with a garage or private seller...

I was just about to start a new thread asking about these guys until I found this one!

I am in the hunt for an mx5 and their prices seem to be very good alright! I would assume their price includes the vrt?

I was thinking of taking a trip out to see their stock and ask a few probing questions!

It will be interesting to see if the mx5 is physical stock in their yard in Dublin, and you can actually see and touch it, or a case of "we can get one for you".

they are also heavely advertising on CBG, and again, their prices seem too good to be true, seems dodgy. But if anyine has bought from them, we would be interested to hear....

Yes, I recently bought a car from 'What Deal on cars & vans', and i am very pleased with the car, (Late 05 model).
I had a particular car in mind and they were able to source exactly what I wanted working within the budget specified. I waited a few days until the car was in Dublin, and then went to view it......it was exactly as specified and came with a full service history, right down to the depth of tread on the tyres. What deal looked after all the registration and documentation.I have had the car two weeks now, and the it drives like a brand new car.
I would certainly recommend them for future purchaces, and you will not find better value and service in Ireland.

Yet another example of a first time poster coming out strongly in praise of a dealer !!! So you were so impressed by this dealer that you got registered on Boards specially so that you could praise their service on your first post ! Wow, these guys must be good when you were that impressed !
