Kanye concert in RDS

    Hi All,

I was just at the Kanye concert in the RDS last nite and did think it was a good concert. Except there were a few things. I didn't think the sound was great, he didn't seem to have changed from what he was could have been wearing all day. I would have expected some flamboyancy in what he wore. He also didn;t seem to give much of a **** about the show he was putting on. I do think the venue was pretty **** for such a star but we paid good money and did not get the kind of show that he perform in all the other european shows he has. I have to say I'm disappointed. I know if I were to go to any of the other shows in proper arenas it would be a killer show not the half assed show he gave us. He didn't even bother to use the special effect mic for his new song.:(.

Have never liked Kanye. too much up his own hole and concerned about self image. His music has been dodgy since his first album too and his concerts are always overpriced. Not havin a rant.......just sayin is all

Kanye concerts are always dissapointing, he doesn't give a ****, he's there because he has to be and he has no interest in the fans. I remember the first time he was here he was on stage for 40 minutes and that was it. He is over rated, for both his performances and his albums. I can't understand why everyone thinks he's special but Kanye obviously agrees with them, having released a greatest hits after 2 albums.

I saw Snoop in the RDS a few weeks ago and I enjoyed that concert - not saying the RDS is a great arena but Snoop is a good performer.

If you want to go to a real rap concert then go to The Game, I've seen him four times over here and it get's better every time. Always A LOT of energy and he gets the crowd involved.

Well, I'm just back from seeing him in London, and I thought he was superb. Easily one of the best big gigs I've been to.
Played most of my favourite songs, so I was pleased with that, and one new song, which I don't know the name of, but was epic. Estelle joined him at the end, for a surprise duet on American Boy, which was pretty cool.

Finch, your description sounds like the opposite to what I saw tonight. Maybe Dublin were unlucky, but tonight he worked his ass off. And he actually stopped his new song twice, because the sound engineer didn't have the sound exactly right. But once, that was sorted, he put on a great performance of it
Only negative thing I can say, is that his voice was pretty shot, and he didn't sound like himself at all. I hope it was just a temporary thing, and not the reason he's abandoning rapping for the new album.

Im of the complete opposite opinion. Kanye played for nearly two hours straight, had 3 support acts and he gave it his all during the performance...really getting into every song. He actually wears those clothes on the glow in the dar tour....check out videos on youtube....and he did use the vocoder for love lockdown!! Only disappointment was the set....it was good at times, for example jesus walks was incredible....but i was expecting a huge glow in the dark theme. Also the crowd were a massive problem....the minority of them were 13 years olds constantly walking through the crowd and I had a crowd of idiotic dubliners next to me who thought they wer the sh*t. Other then that....a incredible gig.

I was at the Kanye West concert at the weekend and i thought it was brilliant. It was the second time i saw him on this tour as i saw him in america when i was on a j1. Both times he was fantastic. I would agree that he didn't interact with the crowd on sunday but this wasn't helped by the fact that somebody threw something at him early in the show! I think this tour was supposed to end ages ago so maybe thats why Mr.West wasn't feeling his best. Over all i thought the whole package was class, great stage, great atmosphere, great energy from Kanye but there is no doubt that this man thinks he is god!

The main problem I felt was with the crowd, 70% of the people there were pissed 13/14 year old who clearly had no parent/guardian with them as was stipulated on the ticket. They should have been refused access.

The sound was really bad at times, overall the gig would have been a sucess apart from these two problems, I just couldn't relax with all the hostility and aggro from the drunk teenagers who were constantly pushing past and banging into people and smoking inside the hall.

i agree. The crowd at hip-hop shows especially in dublin has a strong teen turn-out, you'd swear they'd never been away from there parents before and they run around like its a playground.

Was at Kanye and Jay-z both in Cork and the crowd was far more into the music and in turn the atmosphere was amazing:pac: more gigs should be held in the marquee...
