    Hi Dar,

Good post, well thought out and well said, old son.

Ryoishin, afaik there are Shuriken Jutsu classes running in Clondalkin, Croke Park, and Newbridge at the moment. They're a very welcoming bunch so I have no doubts that any questions anyone may have will be enthusiastically and politely answered to anyone who turned up.

    To get back on topic....

As a former student of Brian Mc Carthy, I'd give him the thumbs up. Teaches in a very fun way, and encourages everyone to take what suits their body/style etc. if that's boxing/ wrestling/ martial arts etc. and importantly never tells students "this is the best" etc. his attitude was always learn from all forms of defence and use them to your advantage.
As someone who uses these skills almost every day in work I found it of great benifit.

Anyway hope you find what your looking for and happy new year to everyone.

I assume MM is a garda or security professional; Mc Carthy had a lot of those lads training with him in the 90s as he trained US Embassy in CQB, and also trained the Irish Rangers (not Huns) army boys ..

hi everyone, Brian I am a 5th Degree Black Belt in Shuriken Do and have trained all over the world and here in Ireland. I have had the pleasure in training in many different types of Martial Arts and have trained also side the best of the best out there. I personally Felt that Shuriken Do was the most skillful and effective art and this is why it became the one for me. As you have stated in your previous emails you also have reached the level of a Sensei in Shuriken Do, which means you no doubt have studied our Oath. which states we will always be respectful to others and their arts. In all the arts I have trained in respect is the main factor and is the back bone of most Martial arts.

    Hi all,
Sorry for the late posting but this was only brought to my attention very recently.
I feel Sensei1985's posting is a bit misleading. He fails to mention that he is a founding member of Shuriken Do and was/is Brian's instructor.
