Flicking channels last night I came across footage of the recent Snowdonia marathon on SC4. Couldn't understand a word of the narrative as it was all in Welsh but the pictures told the story. I came across a link here:
    http://www.mudsweatandtears.co.uk/tag/snowdonia-marathon/ to a review.
It looked savage. Its regarded as one of the hardest marathons. When you throw in gale force winds and rain too, well thats another matter again. The men's winning time was around 2.45 which is pretty damn good considering. The SC4 coverage may be available from their website.

Oh. another thing. One of the competitors was barefoot! Despite most of it being on tarmaced roads. And he finished it.

I've heard of it too. There is quite a bit of climbing involved. It reminds me, when I ran Dublin in 2006, I came across these three guys who had three marathon numbers pinned to their shirts. It turned out, they had run three marathons in three days. Beachy Head in Southern England, Snowdonia in Wales, and then Dublin on the third day.... savages !
