Dying hair blonde

Been getting my hair dyed blonde at the hairdressers for years now but it's turning out really expensive, I can't afford it anymore. So just wondering do home dye hair kits eventually wreck your hair or is there a good one out there? Also my hair is very blonde, think Sarah from Girls Aloud so if anyone knows a brand and colour that would match that colour that would be great, thanks!:)

Why dont u have a chat with your hairdresser, she might offer to do your hair at her house or your house for half the cost thats what I do and its great :D If she knows your planning on leaving anyway she's not stealing clients!! Or maybe put up a post here for hairdressers in your area that would do hair outside of a salon. Its money for them and savings for you!

Thanks, asked her and still would be 7-8 times what a hair dye kit would cost and just can't afford that at the moment. Thanks anyway though Hayden.

I don't know much besides what I've experienced on my own head, or my friend's :) as we're poor students, but none of us have experienced any problems with dying out hair ourselves. Blonde can be hard to get right, as can go a bit too yellow, or white-y if you're as blonde as Sarah Harding is. Do it like the hairdressers, ie. the roots first then the rest, check the pack for instructions.

get sme1 who knows wat they're doin to help. got my mate who had no idea wat she was doin to do mine few mths ago & it was a disaster!!!

i wouldnt have bn as blonde as u but it turned out yellow  had to dye it brown few days later. she was sure it looked white enough before washing it off but when i dried it there was a real yellowy tint.

actually im glad now coz i was totally against goin brown but it looks much better, i can dye it myself, hair is in great condition & cheaper to maintain

u should get a bleaching kit....dunno do u want all over colour r highlights but both r available. there r instructions n them all....as ul only hav roots to do ul only put it on d regrowth. just make sure u leave it on long enough r it'll turn out yellow but not 2 long r hair will b like straw!!

Thanks girls. No particular brand so? Might go with one of the L'Oreal ones.

Ive dyed my hair at home a few times, it can come out yellowish, but my hairdresser told me to just do my roots and not to put it in the rest of your hair, it stops it drying out, its works for me when i cant afford to go to the hairdresser.
I like the herbal essence brand but my hair isnt as light as yours
