Got a text of someone there, they have seen some red squirrels back in the area for the first time in years. They are wondering who to call about this as the wood may be be cut down in the near future.

Saw one near my place a while back for the first time in years. Was the first time, and unfortunately, the forest he's almost certainly been inhabiting is also being 90% logged.

Interestingly enough, I think there's a crossbreed in the trees by my house, or has been. He definitely looks like a mix and match of the two species.

Question is, is there a body which tracks the location and numbers of red squirrels?

I know there are people over here in the UK to call but am wondering if there are any Irish agencies?
