    Hey all!

I haven't a clue about speakers and their set up, so please excuse my ignorance :o

I recently got a 5:1 set up and have it all hooked up (It was part of a home cinema system with DVD player etc..)

Anyways, when playing a DVD it sounds amazing with surround sound things zooming left and right etc..

Buuut.. When I'm just looking at tv there's nothing!

The only audio that comes out is that out of the central speaker, there's nada from the rear speakers and sub woofer etc..

Do they only work for Surround Sound DVD's?

Can I not get the speakers to transmit regular TV channels also like Sky Movie channels?

Also, I just bought some optical cables to connect the DVD player to the TV, would HDMI be better though?

Sorry haven't a clue about all of this! :(

Have you checked the audio output of your tv into the amplifier, the dvd player will be on a different input on your amplfier. Maybe you have the audio settings incorrect.

    Hi Mc

If you live nearby..south Dublin... I'd be happy to step you through it. Lot's of free time at the moment and I've been fiddling with these things for quite a while.
