Disability allowance question

OK, a quick background story. Question is for a mate of mine. He is 28 years old if that matters. About 3 years ago he started suffering from panic attacks or anxiety attacks & as a result had to leave his job about 2 & a half years ago. He has been receiving disability allowance for the last 2 years. His medication seems to be working alot better now and he wants to get himself back into a normal routine. Getting a job is a bit too much of a leap forward for now so he is considering starting a course in something. So the question is....If he starts a course can he still claim his disability allowance & would he be entitled to any other benefits. He lives at home with his Mother( works part time) & Father ( retired). Thanks for any info:)
