Haircut help

At the moment, I'm growing out my hair. I got it bobbed very short before I moved to NZ last April. I got it bobbed with it graduating longer at the front and shorter at the back (I believe it was called "the pob" after Posh Spice - here is a link, it was like the middle one here but shorter http://celebhairstyle.files.wordpress.com/2008/04/pob-posh-bob.jpg).

Anyway, after seeing photos of myself I reliase that longer hair suits me better so I'm trying to grow the pob out. I got it trimmed a few weeks ago to get rid of the split ends but I haven't had it styled for 6 months. At the moment it is all one length all the way around and just hanging there. It's limp and heavy and driving me mad. I have quite a round face too so I really feel I need some styling to frame it properly and reduce the "moon face" look. I was trying to save it until Christmas but I can't wait. I was thinking of getting a lot of layers put in the front and a side fringe and some long layers in the back to make it lighter. Problem is I can't find any pictures of anything like that online - the styles are all really edgy and I just want something to make it look semi decent while I'm growing it out.

Any suggestions or pics of some way I can not have one a lot of hair at one length but without geting much length off around the rest of the hair? Anyone else stupidly go for the pob and growing it out now?

    curse you posh spice!

Could you not just go to the hairdresser and ask for a long side-swept fringe with a few long layers at the front? And emphasise that both fringe and layers to be kept long ( you can always go shorter but not the inverse!). I have a roundish face too and play around with a fringe and layers all the time. I had a long side swept fringe a few months ago and it looked great. I'm now playing around with a shorter fringe and a few shorter layers around my face cause I wear it up at work and the longer fringe doesnt work as well with an up do. The difference between a longer fringe and a shorter fringe is only a couple of months growth so it's not that big a deal to change.

i say leave the back of it and get a long sweeping side fringe, one that goes right the way over if you know what i mean..
it will probably really frame your face..
a few , again, long layers around your fare too - not too many though
