Where to get counselling?

I'd love to visit a counsellor but I don't want my GP to know. It's too close to home. How can I get referred to a counsellor without going to my GP, and how much do they charge roughly? One of my problems is money, I can't really afford it, but I need guidance.

Have you tried the sticky at the top of the forum? :)

I'm not sure about availability or access, these things can vary depending on where you live.

Is there anything you'd like to discuss here through the boards?

    Good luck.

I have a friend who went for counselling. She got a name out of the Golden Pages and the counsellor cost €50 per session. I suspect that's probably around what they generally charge; my dentist/physio/GP all charge roughly the same amount for an hour.
