    Hi all,
Ive got a full HD panasonic 42 inch plasma tv and want to get sky hd but ive no interest in paying €15 a month for the hd package as i dont want it,
ive heard that the quality of normal channels on sky with a full hd tv is better the normal box,
sky quote a hd box on its own as being €500 i think but i was thinking if i paid €15 a month for 12 months i could then cancel the hd subscription and keep the hd box,
Is this possible? Is it worth it?
    Thanks
    Hope ive been clear here

But if you cancel the sub, then you do not get any HD content.

Ya i know that what i mean is that the quality coming from a hd box without the package is supposed to better that the quality from a normal sky box from what ive heard,
    Thanks

    Here
you wont get RTE on freesat. you would have to use an aerial.

on the sky side you could cancel the hd sub and keep the sky box for + functions. and BBCHD.

although you would have to have a min sub.
