Probably not, they got pretty slow delivery

Au contraire, I've often had items shipped before their official release date. They aren't the cheapest but they're reliable.

I only use play for bargains. Gamesnash are suppose to be good at getting stuff to people on release days.

Amazon are also a lot faster at delivering.

My lbp was shipped on Monday, still hasn't arrived but it'll just make you play some other games until you get the game.

They take longer to post games than movies. I've been waiting a week and a half for the last few games I ordered off them. Whereas the dvd/blu ray movies I order off them arrive in four to five working days.

They seemed to have changed their shipping methods.

A few games I've received lately were shipped from Budapest and have taken over 2 weeks to arrive as opposed to the more or less guaranted 3 working day from dispatch delivery from Jersey.

There's a good chance you'll have it sooner than if you were to order from play.

I may have to join you there, murderous rampage work for you?

Good thing I'm broke otherwise I might crack and buy the game in HMV. Ah, to the person who thought up student discounts, I salute you.

Last time I ordered from Play.com was for a PSP game, which came in 4 days, 2 days after release date. Can't remember where it was shipped from though.

I recently ordered Uncharted from Play on Friday night, 24th of October. It arrived the following Friday morning (Oct31st), so that was 5 working days.

For almost guaranteed release day arrival though, I would recommend Gamesnash.ie as a previous poster mentioned.

Ya there is no sign of it on the site at the minute anyway. There is a gamesnash representative on boards though. Maybe drop him a quick PM and you could get things sorted a bit quicker.

I have spent a fortune on Play.com over the years. Parcels that fit through your letterbox usually take 5-6 working days for me. Ive never gotten a pro evo before the release day I'm afraid.

I used to prefer the site when you could buy in Sterling-I buy DVDs from Sendit now because they allow you to buy in sterling and you make small saving.

    HER ;) username is Gamesnash.ie

Resistance 2 is not on the site at the moment - we were given a ridiculous cost price for it - meaning it would be cheaper for us to buy it off play.com ourselves !!!!

We're just waiting on the Irish distributors to come back to us hopefully with a better price.

thanks for all the replys. dont think ill go with play.com due to no guarentee of release day delivery. so here is hoping gamesnash are able to supply it. if not it will have to be a high street retailer.

what would you say about Call of Duty:World at War?
will you be delivering it on the release day for sure?
and would the price increase when the game is released??

What would you like me to say ;) - it's in terms of pre orders one of the busiest releases of the year for us. Promises to be a cracking game.

Will we be delivering on release day for sure - we for obvious reasons are very careful in what we say to these questions. As our message states on all pre orders ...... This game is available now for pre order. Beat the queues and have it delivered to your door. This game is currently due for release on Friday 14 November, 2008. Pre Orders at Gamesnash are generally dispatched at least 24 hours before release day which with free standard shipping usually arriving for release day. Customers wishing to guarantee release day delivery should choose express post at checkout.

A lot of factors influence the delivery - from the time we recieve the stock / how many units need to be turned around / the amount of express postal orders etc. By and large though the majority of our deliveries land for if not before release day. It's just we are not in a position to guarantee it unless its express posted.

Will the price increase ? Not at all - we are not fans of the retail equivelent of "rope a dope" - we put our best price out and it stays at that level until we can source cheaper stock at which point it falls.

HMV have the best prices for new PS3 and 360 games I have seen in shops & online and no waiting for delivery from Play or Gamesnash.

Prices on new games at the moment:
    LittleBigPlanet €53
    FarCry €52
    Motorstorm 2 €50
    Saints Row 2 €50
    Dead Space €53

    Gear of War 2 €45

HMV must be passing on the sterling savings, GAME & Zavvi on average €10 for each game title listed above.
