    Howdy folks....

I seen an add advertised on an alternative site selling a Laptop, I received a reply from the seller today but not 100% about the whole setup he wants to complete the sale...

Have a read and let me know if is dodgy or a scam, cheers:
    Hello,

The Dell Laptop is still available. The price I would like to obtain is £510. The laptop is brand new in original box and comes with all accessories and full warranty.
Reason of sale is unwanted gift.
If you are interested to buy it now, I will do this transaction only trough eBay in order to have a safe transaction for both of us. To start the transaction please reply me with your full shipping name, address and your eBay ID.
As soon as I have them I will start the official procedure, and eBay will notify you about this. eBay will send you an invoice with all the info you will need to complete the transaction. I will handle the shipping to your location, so this will be free of charge for you.
You will get the laptop and you will have 5 days of inspection in which you can decide if you keep it or not. In case the item is not as described and you don't want to keep it, you notify eBay and you send it back on my cost! (shipping is already paid by me). If you want to keep it, you notify eBay. Payment method and all the details will be set up by eBay for security reasons. They will contact you to confirm the transaction by email. You will get the item in max. 24 hours.

I'll be waiting for your reply soon with the requested details.

    Cheers

Get real - this has scam written all over it! Anyway what is the obsession people have with buying laptops online - especially online auctions - when for marginally more you can get a guaranteed product from a high street trader? Penny wise and pound foolish somes to mind. :):)

eBay don't arrange sales, or payments, or anything like that. What you'll most likely get are a series of spoofed emails, and a request for payment through Western Union, or some fake escrow service.

It's a scam, plain and simple. Nobody gets a laptop as a gift when they don't want it. Nobody sells a brand new laptop, in box, for way under it's market value.

I seen the add on gumtree:

    http://www.gumtree.ie/dublin/25/30682825.html

So I replied to the add to find out more details - I half expected it to be a Scam but was curious anyways to find out could I collect or see the laptop...
But of course I got the reply above

I replied to him email with a "friendly" reply stating how "nice a guy" he is... :D

No reply as of yet since either :p
