UPC digital service keeps brekaing up every 30 seconds

    Hi all
    I moved into new house recently where old NTL now UPC is preferred over sky - I decided to try UPC out for a change having had Sky for many years before selling up. We got the new digital basic (€20) per month service and I am reasonably happy with it - however I note that frequently the screen freezes for a second and some cases the sound also goes - I could live with this only it happens nearly every 30 seconds and is so frustrating when you are watching the box. Does anyone know why this is happening and how to fix it? This never or rarely happened with Sky - not a good start.
    All comments / assistance greatly appreciated:confused:

    It could be for any various reasons from a faulty box, bad internal wiring, loose connection or low signal level on the network. Best thing to do is give them a call on 1908 and arrange a service call.

    Do you have cable or MMDS ?
    MMDS can glitch quite a bit .

    Yep, the last big storm, the box was losing signal every 20-30 seconds for a few hours.

    I was talking to an UPC engineer today, who said there is an issue with the local mast, and work is underway, so maybe this problem is not the norm.

    MMDS can glitch quite a bit .
    Cable - funny thing is it appears to be bad at weekends (heavy usage?) but is still happening during the week - is there a setting on the cable box I can adjust?
