Hi, I have a red warning light which comes on when braking. It is the differential light. Can anybody shed any light on this? Any help would be appreciated.

Might be brake pad wear indicator?? and not a diff light

Thanks Jonty, it is definitely the differential light i have looked it up in the workshop manual. I thought about brakepads myself, but isnt it usually a brake indicator light that glows when brake fluid low or pads need changing. I just dont want to do damage.
I will check the pads tonight. I have only ever changed the front pads and I have 170,000 miles on it.

    Folks,
This might be of interest. My differential light problem is fixed. It was a brakelight bulb problem. I had no brakelights and then when I checked teh fuse it was ok, I replaced all bulbs and hey presto warning light went out. When I took the bulbs out, the warning light came back on. LR dealer could not tell me that!!
