    Hey guys,
Hopefully one of you in the know will be able to answer my question.
A friend of mine plays in local pubs using a powered mixing desk and a small set of passive speakers (keyboard and vocals.) He's been booked to do a gig in a larger venue and will be using a pair of JBL powered speakers in place of his usual set up.
Just wondering the best way to take the audio from the powred desk. Would he be best taking a line out of on of the aux lines into the powered speakers.
What happens if he takes a line from the deks main speaker outputs?
    thanks
    MI

Depends on the desk. Take a Dynacord 1000 which is very common.
Now if you came out of the speakon outputs into powered speakers that would be a very very bad idea. However, this desk has a l & r main outputs on jack which is just signal, not power. You would use this to link into your powered speakers.

So question is, whats the desk?

The answer is a Dynacord, not exactly sure which model - I will have a look for unpowered outs.
    Response much appreciated.
