So what to people make of Paul Nicholls targeting more Irish races.

I think its great, we get to see more talented hosres running on our shores plus it means our trainers have abit more to think about.

In the past we had Nickname and Central House fighting out the finish for races with fairly big pots and with Nicholls having a very big string it makes sense to come over here chasing big money with generally few runners in the chases especially.

Officier De Reserve - is what made me think of this and he won today and is now targeting a Navan race later this month.

Dear Villez was one he sent over for the Munster National and won a mere €74k.

Kauto Star and Noland are others that came over just last weekend.

Jeez Ruby Walsh has a hard job... :)

He plans on winning the trainers title over here! I wouldn't bet against it and to be honest i think its good for racing. I'm sure more people would come to the race courses for the likes of Kauto Star.

I assume it is the Troytown that you are referring to?

Officer De Reserve does not strike me as a particularly well handicapped horse over fences so he may have his work cut out in taking a race such as that. I am sure that Nicholls has something ready to emulate Calling Wild at Christmas as well.

I done a quick bit of research on British raiders, and it's proving interesting to follow:

The Nicholls/Walsh combo in Ireland has been absolutely bombproof!
