    Hi,

I am just wondering if anybody has any advice in relation to salary expectations. If a company is set to offer you a job and they ask you what your salary expectation is, what should you say if you don't really know what the salary should be? Specifically in relation to a job in a project management type role with a big software company in Dublin... 3-4 years experience... master's degree...

Thanks, I'd really appreciate your advice.

What would you be happy earning? With that experience somewhere in the range of 40-45k would be reasonable.

It depends an awful lot on the number of people and the budget of your projects.

Eg Is the role looking after teams of 20+ at multiple worldwide sites bringing a new 20million product to market over 2 years, with 4 or 5 suppliers of services to it.

Or would you be managing a team of 3 people localising a minor software product. Guessing the latter as 3-4 years is not that much experience in project management terms.

It's impossible to estimate the salary without knowing the intricate details of the company, what they pay other people at similar level and how well qualified you are for the role.

Your best bet is to find similar jobs on Irish jobs and see what the salary range is like.
