Ok, working on a project to do with image analysis, my question is; is it possible to write C++ code to 'talk' to a usb camera, webcam or otherwise, without a specific SDK for the camera. i.e. is there a generic solution to find a usb cameras and grab and save an image from it? so far all I've been able to find are references to vfw (video for windows) header file but I can't work out how that could be implemented.
    Any ideas?
