Right so, my bf fingered me for the first time the other day, and today I've been noticing a not so nice odour down there.
This however has happened me before, except it was also itchy, and although i didnt get it checked out, I used thrush cream and that sorted it out.
Can you get thrush this way? =S and if so, how do i stop it recurring, i dont want to have to be dolloping cream on all the time!

Also, I'm sorry if this thread is in the wrong section

Why did you talk to the dr or the chemist when you got the cream ?

sounds like you might have thrush already and this just irritated it
but i would get it checked out as i am not a doctor and therefore cannot give advice to your vag!

yea, its probably something thats been there for a while but just reared its ugly head. Most women get thrush at some stage, just keep using the cream and it should go away. You cant really stop it going away but u can make it as......comfortable as possible

It might be thrush or it might be bacterial vaginosis, which isn't contagious but you need to see a doc to be sure.

It's 99% likely that its Thrush. It sure does pong! The cream has a recommended usage regime as far as I can remember, so you don't have to have it on all the time

Go to your doctor, get them to have a look. Canesten cream is quite good for external thrush, but if there's a discharge you generally need something for internal use. Canesten do a pessary which is quite good, but to really be sure, you should go to your doctor and ask about Diflucan. It's better to suffer the embarrassment and be sure that whatever you have is properly treated, than to be messing about with creams and possibly not even targeting the right area.

If it's properly treated and the infection is completely cleared up, it won't just "flare up"; you'll develop another case of it. There's a really helpful thread on thrush in the Ladies Lounge forum, where many women swear by a supplement called acidophilus to prevent thrush. You should look up the thread for yourself.
